Meanwhile, Shahid has revealed in an interview with Bollywood Hungama that he broke down after watching the original Jersey. "I was crying and was having some kind of emotional breakdown. It was like a cathartic moment for me. It was like a therapeutic film for me,” he said.
“Nani was outstanding in the film. He is younger so for him to have played the father was, kudos to him for pulling it off. Even though I don’t think he has like an older child or something. I don’t think he has a big kid, never seen or heard. So I don’t know if he had a kid when he did this film and he definitely didn’t have a kid at this age. So he did a very good job depicting that,” he added.
Jersey is the story is of a 36-year-old cricketer named Arjun who stopped his cricketing career ten years ago, now aiming to play for the Indian team. The film is produced by Allu Entertainment, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments, and Brat Films.
