Salman Khan removes his shoes and pays respect to Balasaheb Thackeray at the trailer launch of Dharmaveer
On Saturday, the makers of the upcoming Marathi film Dharmaveer launched the trailer of the film at a grand event in Mumbai. The event was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, superstar Salman Khan, and Riteish Deshmukh.
During the trailer launch, Salman Khan was invited onto the stage along with the other guests including the CM, his wife, Aditya Thackeray, and Riteish Deshmukh. Before the trailer launch, the guest paid their respects to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and garlanded photo frames of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, his wife Meenatai Thackeray, and late Anand Dighe, on whose life the film is based.
Salman Khan won the hearts of the audience as he paid respect to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the framed photos of Babasaheb Thackeray. The superstar removed his shoes from the stage before paying his respect to the personalities.
Dharmveer is a biography of noted politician Anand Dighe of the Shiv Sena party. Noted actor and director Prasad Oak essays the role of Anand Dighe in the film. Born in 1951, Anand Dighe was considered to be second only to Shiv Sena's iconic founder Bal Thackeray in terms of popularity. He died in the year 2001 due to a heart attack. His fans were so shocked by his demise that they burned down the hospital where he was admitted. The teaser of the film was released on April 13 and it shows a glimpse of a hospital being set on fire.
Produced by Mangesh Desai, Sahil Motion Arts, and Zee Studios, Dharmaveer releases in cinemas on May 13.
