Music maestro A. R. Rahman is someone who likes to keep his life private and the musician rarely shares about his personal life on social media too. However, this time around, it was a special moment for this proud father as his eldest daughter Khatija tied the knot with sound engineer Riyasdeen Riyan.
Sharing a photo from the nikkah ceremony, A. R. Rahman took to Instagram to talk about it saying, “May the Almighty bless the couple .. thanking you in advance for your good wishes and love🌹🌹💍🌻🌻 @khatija.rahman @riyasdeenriyan #nikkahceremony #marriage #திருமணம்.” The couple was seen donning matching ivory outfits for the wedding whereas Rahman was seen in a maroon sherwani kurta.

Needless to say, after the post was shared on Instagram, comments started pouring in from fans, well-wishers and musicians from the industry. One of the most beloved Bollywood singers, Shreya Ghoshal commented on the post saying, “Hearty congratulations @khatija.rahman @riyasdeenriyan God bless the beautiful couple. ♥️♥️”. Singer Bhargavi Pillai, musician and one of the wealthiest entrepreneurs in India - Ananya Birla amongst others expressed their well wishes and congratulated A. R. Rahman on this special occasion.
Rahman’s eldest daughter Khatija has been following her father’s footsteps and is a popular musician. On the other hand, her husband Riyasdeen Riyan hails from Tamil Nadu and is the sound engineer at A R Rahman Live.
On the work front, A. R. Rahman recently composed music for the sequel to Heropanti. Heropanti 2, that released on April 29, features Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria, Nawazuddin Siddiqui in key roles and is directed by Ahmed Khan.
