Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer Jersey has finally hit the theatres. After several delays and pushing of dates, the film has finally been released and has been receiving positive responses. Critics and celebs from the film industry have been lauding the film. Jersey is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name. The original had starred Nani in the lead. The remake was directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri who also directed the original.
Several celebrities took to social media to laud the film. Actress Ananya Panday, too, took to her Instagram stories to praise the film. She also mentioned that the film had her crying. "All the feels @shahidkapoor you made me cry like a baby!!! Just the best @mrunalthakur you’re sunshine girl! @officialpankajkapur sir (raising hands emoticons) @amanthegill all my love is with you," she wrote.
Ananya, who s rumoured to be dating Ishaan Khatter, is quite close to Shahid Kapoor as well. She was seen at Shahid's birthday party in February this year which was attended by close friends of the actor.
Earlier, Nani, too, had praised the film. "Watched #Jersey and our @gowtam19 again hit it out of the park. What performances and heart. @shahidkapoor @mrunal0801 #PankajKapoor sir and my boy Ronit. This is true good cinema. Congratulations," he had tweeted.
Jersey is the story is of a 36-year-old cricketer named Arjun who stopped his cricketing career ten years ago, now aiming to play for the Indian team. The film is produced by Allu Entertainment, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments, and Brat Films.
