Ajay Devgn, who will be next seen in Maidaan, is mourning the loss of legendary footballer PK Banerjee. The actor had met him during the Kolkata schedule of his film where the footballer shared details about his career.
"Had the good fortune of meeting football legend PK Banerjee in Kolkata during the Maidaan schedule in November. Sad to hear about his demise. RIP, the man with the golden kick #PKBanerjee," Devgn tweeted on Friday.

PK Banerjee was felicitated with Padma Shri in 1990, and the Arjuna Award in 1961. He was awarded FIFA Order of Merit (Centennial), the highest honour accorded by FIFA, in 2004.
Maidaan is a story of one of the finest coaches that emerged from India, the one who put India on the world map. It is based on the Golden years of Indian Football and will see Ajay Devgn essay the role of the legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim who is also known as the father of Indian football for his achievements in making India a top nation in Football during his lifetime.
Produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta, Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma, screenplay and dialogues are written by Saiwyn Quadros and Ritesh Shah respectively. The film will release on November 27, 2020.
